About Marisa Orshanskaya, PMHNP-BC

In order to establish treatment, Marisa will conduct a thorough evaluation in order to develop a collaborative relationship with each individual in order to determine the unique needs, goals and provide recommendations for treatment. She utilizes medication management when indicated in conjunction with a supportive therapeutic framework incorporating established evidenced-based practice standards of care for the purpose of yielding optimal treatment outcomes. Marisa has experience in treating a range of psychiatric conditions including Depression, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, PTSD, Schizophrenia and the spectrum disorders, such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Marisa has extensive experience and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of individuals suffering from psychiatric illness and struggling with mental health-related issues in both the acute and out-patient setting. This includes working within the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) via Mt. Sinai, the inpatient psychiatric setting in addition to dual-diagnosis, detox and chemical dependency.

Marisa is board-certified and received additional training and certification in Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT) from the Ellis Institute. She has also received specialized training in addiction treatment for those struggling with substance use disorders. Marisa obtained her graduate education at New York University
